All sorts of recent studies indicate the most read Facebook posts are 80 characters (or less, eek!).
Many blogs that allow guest posts have a minimum and sometimes a maximum word count.
Folks running telesummits often want a bio of 100 characters or less.
And on it goes.
I don’t know ’bout you and sitting there counting characters and words gives me a headache. So I went looking for some online tools to do that counting for us.
Check out this list and pick the one that works best for you…heck, some of them even have an app for Firefox or Chrome. Talk about convenient, eh?

That makes sense Alize…and makes it easier, eh? I have a ton of quotes in a spreadsheet and discovered there was a way to count the characters there, which has made things soooooo much easier for my quotes database!
Have a great one…

Very good, I really enjoyed this tip, thanks for sharing!
Hi Rafael…glad it worked for you! I’ve needed a character count so many times. Hugs&Blessings. MamaRed
I would say that there is is nothing better yet then MS Word. At least everything related to word and text files can be easily and proper calculated.
I like that Word does include those word and character counts in the tool itself, although my experience with some of the other features has left me ready to pull my hair out sometimes. How about you? Hugs&Blessings. MamaRed.
