At the end of this lesson, you will have converted your existing Pinterest account from a personal account to a business account. Make sure you’re logged in to your personal Pinterest account before you start this lesson.
Note: the two types of accounts have different Terms of Service (TOS). Please read the one for the Business account before converting your account.
Make sure you have the following information:
Tip: You can use any word processor (like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice) or text processor (like Notepad or Wordpad) to create the file (you don’t even have to save it anywhere unless you’ll need it for other projects)
Note: In the Pinterest 123: Plan | Prep | Serve course, this information is stored on your Profile Planning NoodleSheet. Make sure you have that open while you’re following these steps.
Note: You can copy and paste the information from your Profile Planning NoodleSheet.. And yes, the majority of this information can be changed later, although I do recommend you think VERY carefully about what you want for a username. Be sure to include at least some of the branding in there and keep it short (for example, my name is mamaredpins). The user name CAN be changed and that can cause some issues down the road if you’ve got this information stored on websites, accounts, etc.
Note: It is always a good idea to keep a copy of terms and condtions in effect on the date you created your account. Copy’n’ paste the information to a wordprocessing tool or something like Evernote. If there is something you don’t understand, stop and get legal advice. Return to setting up your account when you completely understand what you’re agreeing to.
Once you click Convert, your personal account disappears and you now have a business account.
You don’t have to do any of these at the moment (of course!) AND I do recommend you get that website verified (yes, it is a bit techie, so ya know) and add the bookmarklet to your browser so you can in good stuff when you find it.
